My students are special because they blossom with imagination. I work in an inner-city school system with students whose eyes light up when they are learning.
Do you remember when you were younger and you would just be creative?
You may have built something in your basement or taken apart something because you were curious what it did. I want to give that opportunity to my students. All students should have the opportunity to be the next innovator. You never know who is going to create the next new piece of technology. It could be a 10-year-old kid.
Many teachers in my building have said they wished they had Legos to do a project or to let the students use during their free time. I am hoping that students will be able to make extensions to their technology projects, by using Legos to build it. Maybe they will build an animal in its habitat or maybe they will build something that they can connect with a Makey Makey board to their computer. Sometimes students just need time to build and explore to inspire their writing. I am requesting the simple Lego bricks, scenery, and storage to get their creativity started and a bin to store them in.
