Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Flannel board stories are simple and fun! I love technology, but also embrace classic storytelling! We need new flannel board story sets. We also need new Lego brick sets for learning!
Many of my students live in high poverty area.
Over 90% of my class receives free or reduced price breakfast and lunch. Over 90% of the students in my class are also second language learners. Our school actively participates in a Gang Reduction and Intervention Program. Despite these challenges, they are also bright, happy students who love coming to school and are eager to learn! Our classroom is a safe place for little learners to grow and achieve!
My Project
Flannel board story sets will enable me to tell and retell familiar stories with my students. The visuals are engaging and help students track the story. Repetition builds their language inventories and increases their vocabulary! We have some good learning areas in our classroom, but our Lego learning center could be great! We need a few more Lego brick sets so the kids can build and create together!
This project is important because our students deserve a classroom learning environment that is rich with resources to help them learn and succeed!
New flannel board story sets and Lego bricks will engage and motivate little learners! Thank you for considering giving to our class project!
