Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Can you remember the last time you cheered with excitement and laughter when you learned something new? Well, my students cheer with enthusiasm when I tell them about a new, creative activity/ project we are doing. They are super eager to learn!
They truly love hands-on, interactive, engaging projects, and challenges that allow them to think outside the box!
They arrive each day ready to tackle their learning in order to reach their goals they have set for themselves. Students work cooperatively to help support their friends in reading their personal and academic goals.
All the students have a passion for learning in their way. Some may be motivated by innovative ideas using technology, others by using creativity with the Arts, and other learning styles as well.
I am very blessed to have this group of students that inspire me to create projects to bring innovation into our classroom.
My Project
S.T.E.M Education has taken a high priority in education; especially, in our Science & Technology Charter. The students that attend our school are passionate and motivated by new, innovative technology. Which is why, I believe the Lego WeDo would be perfect!
I'd love to give learners the chance the be extremely motivated and excited to use the Lego WeDo robots to learn about programming while also learning about life, physical, earth, space science, and engineering.
Students will be involved in the creativity of robotics right inside our classroom on a regular basis. They would be working in teams critically to ask questions and solve problems with a new experience. They would be making scientific observations while exploring on their own or in teams. The power of this tool takes on so many levels. From scientific inquiry to persevering in solving problems, to also working in a team.
The LEGO WeDo is a resource for our learners that has endless possibilities and I am excited to see them experience this type of technology!
