My students need LEGO MINDSTORMS Education EV3 Comprehensive Solution for students in order to provide STEM activities which consist of creating robots, then programming them to walk, talk, move, and whatever their imaginations.
The students in our school come from a variety of diverse backgrounds. They represent many different cultures, lifestyles, family structures, and religions. Many students live well below the federal poverty guide line and read below grade level. Despite these challenges our students come to school with an appetite to learn. They enjoy hands-on activities to help them better understand what is being taught and why. As one of their teachers, I try my best to make every lesson as hands-on and interactive as possible to keep them engaged and wanting to learn.
Every student in our school receives free lunch, breakfast, and dinner.
Our school is located across the street from income-based housing. The majority of students walk home or are bused nearby.
My school is an older building that is Title I. Even though we are Title I and fully accredited this year, public school funding continues to dwindle year after year. We deeply appreciate any help you give us.
The LEGO MINDSTORMS Education EV3 Comprehensive solution Set for students will provide students the ideal opportunity to develop the 4Cs of 21st Century STEM learning: communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity.
Learning by using hands-on, interactive projects has proven to ignite my students' interest in the classroom.
The LEGO Mindstorms EV3 will give students the opportunity to learn the STEM skill of coding while also using their design skills to create an effective robot. By using Mindstorms, I am able to integrate many skills into the one project. Integrating technology, coding, and the design process makes learning more memorable and exciting for the students. The Mindstorms EV3 brings all these skills together. Not only are students using technology, the project will help the students with their soft skills such as collaboration, problem solving, and communication. Students don't realize the amount of collaboration they will need in order to make a successful robot. Today's employers are looking for employees who can be part of a team and know how to successfully work together. By collaborating on the Mindstorms, my students will be enhancing these soft skills.
