This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach in a very supportive rural school in Mississippi. My third graders are excited to learn every day. These precious students are eager to learn and would greatly benefit from STEM activities.
I want to make sure that I can provide valuable information and experiences to them that will make them think and want to continue to learn and succeed in the classroom.
My students keep me on my toes and they ask so many great questions, but I do not have the extra money needed to purchase items and materials that I truly need for them.
These students are eager to learn and have a huge desire to utilize and learn more about STEM programs. We just need the funding from wonderful folks like you, to make this happen.
My Project
Students will gain and utilize valuable critical thinking skills through STEM activities. STEM also allows students to practice their problem solving abilities. These activities are challenging, yet fun. It is wonderful to see the delight in their eyes when they accomplish the goal of the project. It is like seeing the light bulb come on.
Students must collaborate and expand their imagination, in order to create the STEM projects and engage in STEM learning.
LEGOS have stood the test of time. Even with competing video and computer games, most students still love building with legos.
These fun LEGO STEM activities given children hands-on practice with science, technology, engineering, and math - skills they will rely on for years to come.
