This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are very excited to learn and grow. However, being in a very small Alaskan village they do not have access to many fun childhood things such as a toy store, a public library, a movie theater, museum, or zoo. So this year I would like to provide a classroom environment full of fun, engaging seating to make our classroom a very special place where they can come and enjoy not only learning but just being kids!
My Project
These materials will help students learn the engineering process. The engineering process will allow students to develop critical thinking skills. These materials will be specifically used for an after school Lego Club. I will teach students lessons that incorporate the design process as well as team-building exercises. Students will be given real-world problems, such as earthquake proofing buildings, developing bridges and other systems that help make everyday life easier. Students will learn how to build well-designed solutions using legos. They will use the lego kits to explore a variety of skills for designing and engineering
