My students need LEGO Simple Machine Kits to promote STEM exploration and hands-on connections with science concepts and vocabulary.

My students are the "4 E's." The first "E" is for EAGER. My 4th graders are eager to start the new school year in the fall in our classroom, a Leader in Me inspired class, that focuses on science and social studies. The second "E" is for the EXCITEMENT they display as we are determined to transform our classroom into a "REAL" 21st Century Classroom. The third "E" is for ENGAGED because they truly want to learn and work hard to be SUCCESSFUL, we strive for ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE. The fourth "E" is for the positive ENERGY they exude while learning and exploring science and social studies units even when I challenge them to accomplish and reach the high expectations that I set for them daily.
Please help my students by sponsoring our project for three (3) LEGO Simple Machine Kits. Using the LEGO Simple Machine Kits, we can integrate STEM using hands-on activities that will allow my students to avoid learning and working about our next unit on force and motion with BORING standard textbooks and workbooks. Often my students must rely on the provided curriculum due to a lack of resources and funding of materials that will enhance teaching and learning about science. If we are provided with the LEGO Simple Machine Kits, I will once again have a voice in what most benefits my unique students (i.e. learning style, abilities, and interests). Having a very active group of students with about 34-37 students in each instructional block...I am in dire need of innovative and engaging center rotations that are reusable and that will durable over time.
Can you image the excitement of my students as I tell them they can learn "through playing"?
My fourth graders haven't heard those words since pre-kindergarten, but with the LEGO Simple Machine Kits this is possible! I would love the opportunity to make learning fun for my students that are in a testing grade, which means lots of reading and writing and limited time allotted for learning by doing.
