Help me give my students necessary materials to make our Lego Masters experience come to life. These items will get them excited about planning, inventing, and sharing out their creations!
In my classroom, there are twenty five, first grade students in a rural school district in PA. Our elementary school is considered a Title I school, which means that we have a high percentage of children from low-income families. They come from various backgrounds, interests and academic levels.
My students are eager to learn at their full potential and I want to give them that great opportunity by offering various learning methods and a unique and warm classroom design.
I hope to inspire all of my learners to be the best people they can be.
My Project
The television show, Lego Masters, has sparked my interest in providing a fun opportunity for my first grade students.
This project will allow students to think and plan out an invention (sometimes a topic will be given), create the piece using Legos, and then share out their experience, while working with a partner or small group.
I want to mimic the show in making it a fun experience for my students that will utilize collaboration, creation, and sharing. This activity will also promote problem solving which is something that has been lacking but needed in our area for the mindset of future careers.
