Our school is in the exciting process of building a new STEM lab for 6-8 grade students. The students love to work on a high level, engaging and hands-on activities! Through this class, these students will be given the wonderful opportunity to work with their hands-on various STEM projects. Our students/families fall into a low socioeconomic status, but we are doing our best to meet their needs by challenging them with this new STEM class. They have a strong desire to jump into the 21st century by working on their technology skills!
My Project
In our school, we are currently getting a new Project Lab. The focus of this lab is STEM, but specifically we hope it is filled with individual projects that students can work on. One area in this room will be Lego Tables where we can host different Lego challenges throughout the week.
Our Project Lab will focus on individual projects that will foster creativity within our students.
They will have some free choice as to what they work on in the lab, but all projects will be connected to our engineering and technology standards. We are hoping this area will be used by all students across grade levels, increasing problem solving skills that will be used in all content areas.
