Mrs. Traynum from Anderson SC is requesting computers & tablets through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need a WeDo Core Set and an iPad Mini to create and program simple robots.

I have the honor of teaching the most intelligent, enthusiastic, and knowledge-thirsty students in the world! We are a Title I primary school, but that does not stop my students from working hard. I am a STEM teacher, so my students are taught to be problem solvers. They enter my classroom each day excited and ready to learn new concepts.
My classroom is a melting pot of cultures, socioeconomic backgrounds, and ability levels, but all of those differences are left at the door.
When my students enter my classroom, we are a family, and we find ways to overcome the differences and help each other succeed. They are a very active and energetic bunch who love to participate in fun, engaging, and hands-on activities.
Do you remember playing with Legos when you were little? Do you remember how much fun it was? Now imagine being able to make those creations come to life by having the opportunity to program them to move! That wasn't possible when I was a child, but it is possible with my students! We previously received a Lego WeDo Robotics Kit and an iPad Mini through very generous donors in the DonorsChoose.org community. We are very grateful for this generous gift. However, everyone wants to code at the same time! I would love to have another Lego WeDo kit and iPad so that more students can be engaged at one time.
The Lego WeDo Robotics Kit and iPad Mini will keep my students engaged in learning new coding skills while bringing out their creativity as they build new Lego characters to be programmed.
The Lego characters that they build will be programmed to do various movements through a Lego app on the iPad Mini. The students can create stories to go along with the motions they programmed their characters to make. The iPad Mini can also be used in other projects in my STEM lab. My students can use it to design objects to be printed on our 3D printer and they can also access coding apps like Scratch Jr. to create digital stories. There will be many learning opportunities available for my students with these additional resources. Thank you so much for helping me make learning fun!
