LEGO, LEGO, LEGO! We Need LEGOS!

My students need access to LEGO Education products such as WeDo 2.0. This allows students to build robotics and code them to move. The Community Builder set will allow younger students to creatively retell stories.

My Students

Our elementary school is a sweet little school outside the city limits. Many of our students live in a rural setting without access to many of the goods and services available in an urban setting. 47% of our students live in poverty. This makes the school setting and the services it provides super valuable. As the Media Specialist, I am lucky enough to see EVERY student every week. Therefore, each student will benefit from this project.

We focus on the whole child, not just their academics.

Our goal is to help educate the child as a leader, a good citizen, as well as preparing them academically.

My Project

The LEGO products that will be purchased through this grant will enhance our student's learning tremendously. In today's growing technological world, students need to start early in their education to learn the ins and outs of coding and computer programming. LEGO WeDO 2.0 products allow students to learn coding while have a super fun time!

LEGO WeDo 2.0 not only gives students step by step directions for constructing robots, it also teaches them to tell the robots what actions to take by coding.

These are tools that children will need in their future education and will also prepare them for a huge industry in their future job field.

Because my school serves 4K-5th grade, I have also included LEGO Community Builders. These are wonderful sets that will be used as a fun way to retell stories and following directions on LEGO construction.
