Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work with the most awesome kids in the world. I love how excited they get when they get hands-on opportunities to learn on any topic. The children at the school live in the most impoverished neighborhoods in the state.
Our students need support in social skills along with learning how to interact with others and play appropriately with peers.
Learning how to make friendships is one of the most important things we can learn that will serve us well for our entire lives.
We need practice sharing, turn taking, and working together. There are so many things to learn when we are little, and social interaction/skills are key to becoming a balanced person.
My Project
Let's help everyone make a friend! These materials will be AMAZING in my classroom. Kids that are shy and kids that need to learn how to connect with peers are going to have an easy way to interact and practice their social skills with these super fun LEGOS!
Sometimes it's hard to strike up a conversation and create friendships, but this LEGO play set will give kids a way to play and learn how to make and keep friends.
Learning to share, compromise, practice appropriate behavior, and have oodles of fun at the same time is a winning combination for student success.
