This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have 27 curious first graders in my class from diverse backgrounds. They are inquisitive and always asking questions. Whenever I bring in a new topic, they want to read and learn everything they can about the topic. We are future engineers.
We love investigating, exploring our community, and engaging in learning around us.
Boys and girls need to explore how to code, create programs, and power robots. We are searching for the similarities and differences in our world and among one another. Through books and hands-on exploration, we will become future leaders.
My Project
We are requesting two Lego WeDo kits. We will use these kits to build our own robots. There are many opportunities for students to practice coding skills digitally on iPads or computers. However there are not enough robot building opportunities.
These Lego kits will provide invaluable hands-on experiences for my students.
They will be able to physically move and create in a way that just isn't possible online. I want my students to be able to create and solve problems. This will allow them to be even more prepared for jobs of the future. Help us grow the experience that we need to be 21st century learners.
