Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our class is a great group of diverse learners who come to school each day motivated and ready to learn. Our class has a big focus on kindness, growth mindset and building a community of learners. We never give up and we cheer each other on!

COVID has really impacted this group of learners and most of them have not had a normal year since second grade, we have big goals to reach this year as we strive to get students caught up in their reading and math.

we have 5 learners who are working on a 2nd grade level and get resources from SPED, but they work hard and love to learn!

My Project

Using LEGO in the classroom will help our students access some of our core concepts in a fun and explorative way all while helping them with their fine motor skills and their social emotional skills. By using these LEGO's students can demonstrate their learning in a visual and creative way all while problem solving and using team work.

Students will see themselves as engineers, collaborators, teammates and problem solvers as they work to build something of their own.

These are skills that students are lacking due to the 2020 shutdown and as their teacher and cheerleader I am trying to focus on them and implement them in our daily learning.
