My Students

I have 24 fun and energetic students who love to be in school. They love to explore and are really beginning to understand print concepts. We are a high needs school with a diverse group of fantastic students. Some are homeless and come to us with nothing. These students come from all different backgrounds and skill levels. These skills and backgrounds really help to create a unique and fun classroom.

My students love to learn about new things.

I believe they should have the opportunity to learn in the way they need to. They come to me hungry and many have never been in a classroom setting. They need engaging and fun materials along with the basic necessities to help them concentrate on learning. We would love to increase our STEM time in the classroom.

My Project

My students come from diverse backgrounds. They do not have experience with hands on tools for learning. These LEGO building blocks would be used to teach them STEM! We love to learn and they love to explore new things. The LEGO blocks with simple machines is something that we teach about but do not have any hands on examples to share with the students. These would be a fantastic way to show them how a machine works and what it takes to create one. Many of the students have never seen a pulley system. I would love to help my students explore how simple machines work!
