These amazing students compile a class of smart, gifted and hand-picked students who are biting at the bit to leave a legacy and create something life-changing. Most of the kids in this class I have taught in my other science classes or have had them as part of my gardening club. They have a natural curiosity for environmental science and the talent to back it up.
The main goal of my kids is to grow and sustain a food garden.
Ideas, sketches, lists, and excitement have been bubbling to the surface since the approval and induction of this vision at the end of last school year.
Every student is an irreplaceable cog to the gears of inspiration and fortitude of this vision. Each has something to offer and teach others. They build each other up and hold each other responsible. I have several 8th graders who have been with me since they started middle school. As the two previous years have not been as successful in the garden growing arena as we had hoped (not for lack of trying) it would be an honor to give them the tools to create this unbelievable food garden!
My Project
By purchasing these gardening materials, you will give my students an education that will last them a lifetime. Learning how to grow food, compost waste and feed those who are in need are lessons so valuable and yet so rare in today's world.
My students have made it their mission to do all of these things and more.

The worm composter will teach them how food waste breaks down, enabling them to see how important it is to use everything available to lessen their environmental footprint. The seeds, cages, and tags will serve as building blocks to a healthy and self productive life skill which can be passed on for generations.
