Inventors, authors, mathematicians, actors/actresses, and athletes make up my classroom. Future careers? No. Currently, they are each of these, everyday. Everyday my students are given challenge after challenge. It may take grit, but they are relentless in completing each task. At the end of each day, that feeling of pride is something no one can take from them.
My students remind me of the amount of love, energy, and dedication it takes to create something meaningful and worthwhile.
I teach mandated state standards, while they collaborate, plan, design, create, and produce unbelievable products daily. They're imaginations run wild, and my job is to promote an environment that they can thrive in.
My Project
School is our home away from home- the students, and my own. We spend more waking hours together, in our classroom, than in the comfort of our personal homes. In order to feel confident in our learning, we need to first be comfortable in our surroundings!
Although my students are up and about, moving and grooving, there are still moments of our days where we must sit down and work.
Have you ever sat during a long meeting or work for hours-on-end and get jittery? Of course. I have too!
Therefore, imagine the excess energy eight year olds have in their always moving bodies! I want to help alleviate some of that, by providing them with alternate seating. Oppose to chairs, these stools provide students with the opportunity to get their jitters out, in a positive way. It helps them both mentally and physically!
In addition, the Salt Lamps and Aromatherapy Essential Oil Diffuser will help our classroom feel more calm and relaxing. As a class, we have been working on mindfulness. These are techniques we came up with to help us feel our best in order to do our best!!
