Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a 6th grade teacher with the Chicago Public School System. We are a school that consistently runs out of construction paper and glue sticks. I am asking for donations to assist me in the everyday teaching process. There are so many projects and enrichment type activities that I would like to do with my students, but I am unable to due to the lack of supplies. My students are from low income families, where resources are scarce. I am doing the best I can with needs such as white board markers, large Post-It paper, and copy paper. I have gone though hundreds of my own pencils and paper. Frequently, I have to change my lesson plans due to copies not being made because of the lack of copy paper. I have spent my own money on replacement ink cartridges so that I can run off tests and quizzes. Often, I will just put the tests on the overhead to save paper. I am asking that you assist in some of these basic needs so that I can help my students to excel to their highest levels.
