My Students

My students come to school from the immediate neighborhood.

They come from low-income families with most of them having only one parent struggling to hold the family together or from families that don't speak English.

They suffer from low academics and many suffer from ADHD and other learning disabilities, including Autism. They come to learn, but some days it is a struggle to keep them on task. I have to make sure that we are always on the move and we have a lot of hands-on activities and movements planned for the day.

My Project

My students use technology daily and need your help! Currently, we use computers in the classroom to read books at individual reading levels. We are starting math centers, and they need this tablet to practice math with technology. It is very hard to log students into computers and set up math practice daily, especially since there are not many free math sites for Kindergartners.

Technology is a great way to practice reading and math skills!

My students will also be able to use the tablets to work on educational apps. Sight word apps can be used to increase vocabulary. They will also be able to use apps to make words and learn difficult vowel pairs and to practice math facts.
