Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Picture this: deserving, hardworking, and appreciative students living in a neighborhood that makes it hard for them to have all the extras in life to truly succeed and show their full potential. They too deserve the best that anyone can give them! Many of these students receive backpacks full of food for the weekends and most are on free or reduced lunch. My students need the same quality educational materials that other students receive across town in order to show their growth!
My Project
These materials will make a difference in my student's learning because they are exactly what we need to have effective literacy centers. My students need to have structure and by having a management system the students will know exactly what they are going to be doing in small groups and when. This will allow me extra time to work with my highest need students. The easel pads and markers are perfect to work with my struggling learners one on one who need more emphasis on a particular skill. The whiteboards and markers will provide accountability for student group work and a chance for students to check their answers with each other. We also need primary notebooks and extra pencils for our writing center.
With your help we can get these students the supplies they need to be successful in literacy centers.
