Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My moderate/severe autism focus special education classroom is an extremely diverse group of learners with a large range of different needs. All of my students are motivated and driven to succeed.
My students love coming to school each and every day and are learning the necessary skills to be successful in the years to come.
In our classroom we work on a variety of subjects including math, science, ELA, social studies, art, vocational skills, social skills, daily living skills and much more. My students require a variety of individualization to meet all of their diverse needs. They best learn from a variety of modalities and repetition. My students require a large amount of small group and 1:1 instruction in order to be successful in the classroom. My students benefit most from hands on learning. They love building and using their imaginations.
My Project
These LEGOS will help my students by promoting use and development of fine motor skills and problem solving techniques. Activities using these materials will encourage collaboration and communication among my students. will allow my students to develop skills necessary to problem solve. These materials will help to supplement other areas such as mathematics, science, language arts, social studies, and help promote social skills by allowing the students to create visuals and role play. The use of LEGOS will help promote critical thinking skills by allowing students to build structures, vehicles etc. LEGOS will allow my students to engage in math lessons in a hands on way.
