There is something so magical about walking into a classroom for the first time. Kindergarten is all about building friendships while also learning through exploration and hands-on activities.
When students engage with hands-on materials, their limits are endless!
They are so curious about the world around them, and it is so rewarding to watch them learn something new almost daily. Sometimes the learning is academic and sometimes a new social skill. My amazing students learn best when they can touch it, hold it, make it, and create it!
My Project
While kindergarten has become very academically based, students still do enjoy some free choice. One of the most popular activities is the old Lego table in my room that is falling apart. A new Lego table and Legos are just what we need to start the school year off on the right foot!
I am always amazed with the many creative things my students can imagine.
Legos allow them to engineer towns, planets, buildings, and beyond. The Legos we have are dwindling, and the table in my room is so old it is no longer safe for students to use. We need your help!
The small budget I receive goes mostly towards the consumable supplies that my students need each year. With your help, we will be able to travel back to when handheld electronic devices are no longer the most exciting thing for a child to play with. I want my students to be excited about using their imagination with Legos!
