My Students

My school is the largest elementary school in the district, serving 950 mostly low income students. Sixty five per cent of our students are ELL and 19% are special education.

The students in my classroom are preschoolers, excited to begin their school experience and stimulated by their love of hands on learning!

My twenty little ones are full of energy and imagination! They thrive on new experiences, language rich environments and play! They deserve the best I can give them.

My Project

My low income preschool students are hands on learners, but they often lack experience with creativity-building toys. Many of my students have never had a chance to play with Legos.

Legos are open ended, imaginative and fun.

They encourage creativity and critical thinking. I want my students to be able to build their world and create new pathways to their imaginations.

Legos encourage my students to work together to build meaningful constructions and explore play in a way that is new to so many of them. My students have seen Lego movies but they need a hands on Lego experience
