My Students

I teach at a school where the kids are dual language learners. During the day, I personally see 56 second-graders who are active, creative and inspirational! I also am the lead teacher for our After School STEM program reaching kids K-6th. We have a wide variety of socioeconomic levels in our school. The students choose to come here from all over the surrounding communities.

I love seeing them come to life while focusing on problem-solving skills.

They encourage me to be a better teacher!

My Project

I have been able to see the kids grasp difficult science and engineering problems using LEGOs. I only have a few available in my classroom and want to get a class set to expand the possibilities. The students are constantly asking if I have more so they can expand upon their projects. Getting this funding would allow me to give them more!

They will be able to build, create, explore and invent using these materials.

I am excited to see their creativity and knowledge expand and blossom! I will have them write about their creations thus expanding this from STEM to their language arts curriculum.
