My students are inquisitive and eager to learn. They ask lots of questions! They not only want to know how, but why they are learning the concepts in class. They want to know how concepts apply to the real world. The school has a diverse population of approximately 1300 middle school students. The students have varying backgrounds and lear ning abilities, but in science class, they are able to find a common ground and passion for learning. They work as a team to learn and teach each other in the classroom, and everyone is treated fairly and without prejudice.
My Project
I have been moved into the science lab as my classroom this year, but the stools for students are old and falling apart, often needing repairs. I am working to acquire a class set so all students can learn without distraction.
New lab stools will benefit all students and they will be able to focus on the content presented without worrying about their stool breaking.
I am planning to do as many labs as possible this year, so all students will have the opportunity to have the hands-on learning experience that makes science memorable. These stools will also be their seats for daily learning and I want that to be the best experience possible.
I am also requesting a backed drafting chair that I can sit in while grading student work and lesson planning that will be supportive and provide ergonomic support.
