My Students
My school would be considered high poverty, at-risk and very diverse. I see my school as at-promise, challenged economically and rich with culture. We serve students from all over the world with our ELL population, along with many cultures from right here in the United States.
At our school, we have students from more than nineteen countries around the globe. With our diverse population and high poverty rate, our students have more challenges that require perseverance and hard work both in and out of school that other students may not be challenged by.
My Project
As we navigate in-person learning during a worldwide pandemic we are trying to create environments that are both safe and fun for students to learn and grow.
Learning is strengthened if students have creative outlets from stress and a chance to build community with their peers and teachers.
These games, adventure books and personal items will give students those outlets to relieve a little stress, have a little fun so that the classroom continues to be joyful during these unprecedented times. Laughter is medicine for the soul and these games can help give that needed break to help energize learning time.
