I am a teacher of students from a low income school in my district. My students face many challenges outside of school so when they come to school I want to make learning fun and engaging.
When you are five and six years old it is hard to sit still and a conventional school day can become a very overwhelming experience.
I like to make learning fun and engaging. Creating many projects to allow students to explore their best style of learning. Our classroom utilizes centers throughout the day for students to use different learning styles to work on important kindergarten skills.
I am so excited about this project. We have been learning basic coding skills during our science block using robots checked out from the school library. This project will allow us to use those skills in our classroom every day.
Learning to code is a critical skill for our students as 21st century learners.
It is my hope that I can make learning fun and engaging and teach students basic code through play.
I am asking for resources to teach coding. The Coding Express will allow students the opportunity to practice these skills on a regular basis. I also hope to use the requested Story Tales, Community People Set, and Lego Duplo Brick Set to allow students to use Stop Motion Video to retell stories. All students learn differently and this will allow me to adjust the learning to best match the learning styles of my students.
