Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students are super awesome and unique. Our English language learners are individuals whose academic development and personality is influenced by their cultural background, experiences, and family values. Regardless of academic or socioeconomic struggles, they persevere to be the best they can be.
Our English language learners are individuals who embrace who they are and love sharing their identity with peers.
They find joy in learning, sharing, and teaching their language and culture because each student is unique in their own history and life experience.
My Project
The set of books we need are text written specifically with our students' interest and level in mind. The books are in a set of 3 so we can read in groups and engage with the text as a group.
Our English Learners need compelling and authentic text to build their background knowledge and help develop their English Proficiency at the same time.
They need text they are interested in so they can make the connections they need to learn.
These books are all they need to be successful readers and meet the language proficiency they need for the school year.
