I teach Career Technical Education. I primarily teach Computer Applications I along with Career management. We are a rural county high school that struggles to keep up with cutting edge technology due to a lack of funding. I want my students to have experienced all of the technology available before they leave high school to pursue their future endeavors.
My students have asked for flash drives so that they may complete assignments at home. A lot of my students can not afford a flash drive. There is no money in the school budget to fulfill these students wishes, and I do not want to deny my students an educational opportunity.
I need the flash drives to serve my students eagerness to learn. It will also allow me to accomplish more in the classroom if assignments can be taken home. It will also benefit my students because portable technology devices are only going to gain in popularity. If my students plan to work anywhere with technology they will need to learn how to use these so they can prosper in the future. Future situations might be taking a business presentation from one location to another, or taking work to the library to work with a group in college that I have been able to prepare my students for.
Your help will ensure that my students get opportunities that their county can not provide them with. It will also ensure that they are prepared for the future.
