This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

A Document Camera will allow me to improve my teaching practices for a variety of learning modalities across all area of the curriculum. My students will benefit from my understanding of how to incorporate technology in my lessons.

I am a second grade teacher with 22 hard working motivated learners.

I’ve been teaching for 15 years with a wide range of grade levels. Our inner-city school is located in California with a high enrollment rate of English language learners. We are a Title 1 school in a low-income neighborhood and all of our students are eligible for the free lunch program. I am seeking materials that will help me grow as an educator and that will allow my student to grasp new concepts in a fun and engaging way.

My Project

My students need Document Camera and Guided Highlighted Reading book. I want a document camera to learn how to use technology in the classroom. As an educator I want to improve my skills and understanding of technology to teach Close Reading. I want to also use the document camera to demonstrate, collaborate, and develop a better understanding of Close Reading with my grade level during our planning time. I also want to access videos by Dr. Timothy Shanahan and use the book Guided Highlighted Reading book on Close Reading for discussion sessions with my colleagues. Having a document camera will help me learn best practices while collaborating with my colleagues.

I want to learn new strategies through professional development to facilitating learning for my students.

Bringing a document camera into the classroom is a powerful tool that will allow me to grow an educator in strategies about Close Reading. Bringing this document camera will open up a world of endless possibilities for me..
