My students need STEM materials such as a giant roller ramp, a magnifier center, magnetic balls, an exploration kit, and journals to enhance their learning in preschool.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In preschool, our whole day revolves around STEM education! We are helping children to explore, observe, ask questions, predict, integrate their learning, etc. My students are young scientists and engineers in the making, and they love to explore, to build, and to question.
I have the pleasure to teach preschool to a wonderful group of children who are always eager to learn new concepts every day!
They come from low-income households, where both parents work or attend school full-time. As a consequence, they spend the whole day at our school, and my goal as their teacher is to provide them with the best materials to help them develop to their fullest potential. They practice STEM skills throughout the day in a variety of ways, but they need additional materials that will help them develop their natural curiosity and will engage them in future investigations.
My Project
Most of our learning is through hands-on activities during our centers time. When my students engage in pretend play in the block area, they are not only using their hands and fingers to manipulate objects, but they are also using their brain to think, make decisions, and make predictions as well. In this project I'm requesting a giant roller ramp to stimulate my students' imagination and creativity. They will be able to build and design their very own giant roller ramps in any configuration they like.
In addition, I'm also requesting a magnifier center, magnetic balls, an exploration kit, and journals to help them engage in simple yet meaningful investigations. They will explore how magnets work and how they react or do not react to materials of all sorts; and my students will be able to document their findings in their journals.
These STEM materials will fascinate my students, they will learn while they play with them.
According to J.
D. Chesloff, "Early exposure to STEM, whether it be in school, at a museum, a library, or just engaging in the natural trial and error of play, supports children's overall academic growth, develops early critical thinking and reasoning skills, and enhances later interest in STEM study and careers." Please support this project to help my students achieve success!
