My students need an ELMO document camera with the ELMO wireless tablet in order for us to present our curriculum and gain the freedom of mobility around our classroom.
We are EXCITED about Common Core Math! Our district is implementing new math curriculum that supports the Common Core Standards. We are hoping to implement a BRAND NEW WAY to present this curriculum by using an Elmo Document Camera during curriculum instruction.
My First Grade students are just amazing and have such a LOVE for learning already!
As they walk through our door each day I see them excited to learn and that makes me so excited to teach them! We have loving and supportive families and a hard working staff that truly cares about each and every child here. I want to do everything I can to make sure I am teaching them to the very best of my ability each and every day! Our students are on the path to a lifetime love of learning and I am honored to be their teacher.
My Project
The Elmo Document Camera is a state of the art way to make our new math (and all other) curriculum come to life in my classroom. I will be able to show EXACTLY what they are working on at their desks up on the whiteboard, instead of having to run back and forth between my computer and the whiteboard, or having to make a black and white transparency to show on my antiquated overhead projector. The Elmo will help me to spend more time visiting each student at his or her desk, and less time going back and forth between my computer on my desk and the front whiteboard. I want to be able to display colorful photos and images that go above and beyond what our common core curriculum provides, and I currently cannot do this in class. I will invite the children to learn how to use the Elmo and to incorporate it into their presentations as well!
We are all moving so quickly into bigger and better technology, and the Elmo would be a welcome addition to our little part of that world.
Your donation will help us to see and better understand our new Common Core curriculum concepts and to be even more excited about how our lessons are presented. As my students continue on their educational journey, I hope that the addition of an Elmo to our classroom will have a long-standing, positive impact on how they receive their education.
