I teach a group of wonderful 2nd graders at an urban school in Oklahoma. My students come from diverse backgrounds, but they all share this in common: they are curious, eager learners.
My students display a longing desire to learn to read and write.
When asking students what their goals were for this year, many of them stated that they wanted to learn to read, write, and learn more English. Literacy is a gateway to success, and my wish for my students is that they grow into successful individuals.
This year is unlike any other school year. My curious, eager students will have to learn online instead of in person. My students display a strong desire to improve their reading and writing abilities, and easels are essential for me to model fundamental reading and writing skills for them. Teaching children to read is a difficult task on its own, let alone teaching children to read on a virtual platform.
Literacy is the gateway to success, and I want my students to grow into successful people.
The use of whiteboard easels in the classroom will lead my students to success.
