This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My favorite quote is " Learning Today... Leading Tomorrow! We live in a technological world, therefore all students need to be prepared to enter that world tech-ready. I strive to give my students a quality education with limited resources. This project will allow them to enhance their learning.
I teach at a Title 1 school in a Black Belt community.
Each morning, I greet 20 third graders with bright eyes and open minds. One particular student of mine reminds me everyday why I decided to become an educator. He is a Triple A student who is full of wonder and love. 70% of my students are struggling readers, but they are determined to succeed. Every morning, we start our day with the saying,,," It's OKAY to not know...but It's not OKAY to not try!"
My Project
As stated before, I wish to give my students every possible avenue to enhance their learning. I am asking for document camera and 3 Asus Chromebook computers. These resources will help my students in mastering the state common core standards. There are tons of resources that they can tap into on the Internet using the Chromebook computers. My students will use the technology to practice reading and math skills. They will also learn basic computer skills.
The document camera will enable my all students to see work as I demonstrate how to do it, they can make corrections and they will also be able to do their own presentations.
Donations to this project will improve my classroom tremendously.
Presently, I have only one computer. I have incorporated Learning Farm into my curriculum. This is a computer-based program that reinforces the common core standards. With the addition of 3 Chromebooks to our classroom, my students will have access to Learning Farm and internet programs. They will also be able to see, discuss and correct their work using the document camera.
