This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a great group of second graders on the southwest side of Chicago. My students are energetic and eager to learn. I strive to provide my students with high-quality learning materials and experiences in order to foster academic growth and a love of learning.

My students are hands-on learners and hard workers.

They appreciate opportunities to engage with learning materials that are interesting, challenging, and designed to supplement their academic growth. As their teacher, I appreciate all contributions that are made toward creating an enriching learning experience for them.

My Project

These books will teach my students about things they can actually do to help save the earth. My students are big Dr. Seuss fans and love the Lorax. I know that they will find this text relatable, entertaining and empowering! The Lorax tells about realistic ways that kids can contribute to taking care of the earth, such as taking a reusable lunchbox to school or turning off unnecessary lights at home. I plan to give each of my students a copy of this book to serve as a reminder of what they have learned about the earth and their ability to help create positive change!
