Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I invite you to help our school bring our Life Lab Garden back to life. In our Life Lab Garden, all 32 of my students will learn valuable lessons in plant-tending, soil chemistry, vegetation life cycles, and the importance of tending to our planet. For the last year or so our garden has been dormant due to a lack of funding for necessary equipment. My 6th graders have begun to take responsibility for bringing this garden back. While we have plenty of tools, such as hoes, spades, rakes, shovels, we do not have tools to keep the walkways weed free. We would also like to be able to prune the trees and shrubbery that have gotten out of control. We have begun to prepare various gardening beds, one for our class, and others for other classes as they would choose to partipate in this activity. Please help us keep our school beautiful and inspire my students to take care of our planet's natural resources. Thank you for your consideration.
