My students need listening and learning centers from Lakeshore to provide them with learning phonics and phonemic awareness opportunities through small groups.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
I teach first grade at a high risk elementary school. Our school district is in the process of rebuilding following a hurricane disaster.
Some of my students are struggling. Phonics and phonemic awareness are only two of the word attack skills that are used to help a reader learn to read. Children tend to learn better in small groups. So using these center and listening activities will provide extra opportunities to help develop stronger readers.
We will use centers daily to give more practice in reading to phonics and phonemic awareness. The centers will give them chances to hear, to say and to see the sounds letters make and use these sounds to read and comprehend words.
These activities will allow the students to learn using the listening center and playing games. I'm anticipating that my struggling students will be able to read at least 50% better than they are reading now. I know you want to help make this possible and I thank you in advance for your donation.
