I have twenty-five amazing students! I work at a Title I school. These energetic children are enthusiastic and motivated learners. My pupils have a unique variety of abilities, interests, and learning styles. In kindergarten, it is developmentally appropriate to have lessons where the kids have opportunities to interact hands-on and creatively. In kindergarten, we must focus on rigorous academics, free play, creativity, and developing fine and gross motor skills.
I hope to provide my students with the appropriate level of books to help each child progress at his or her optimal level of achievement.
My Project
They say, "First you learn to read! Then you read to learn!"
I am requesting a variety of leveled readers for my classroom.
This will help build the children's reading skills, educate them about financial literacy, and other important concepts.
I requested 6 copies of a level E "Favorite Characters" and 6 copies of "Level D Best Sellers" library. These libraries help transition children from being an emergent reader to a fluent reader. A leveled library is a vital tool to help children learn and build their reading skills. Having a leveled library allows me to teach to each child's individual needs. I am able to differentiate my instruction to meet the needs of each child. Giving children the tool of reading allows them to apply that skill to every subject. I requested 6 copies of each book. Having multiple copies allows me to use the books for small group instruction, book clubs, and partner reading.
I also requested leveled books on earning money, saving money, and spending money. "One Cent, Two Cents, Old Cent, New Cent. All About Money", "Once upon a Dime", and "The Coin Counting Book" are fantastic pieces of literature that will a great tool to teach financial literacy.
Thank you for taking the time to support my classroom.
