Help me give my students books they are capable of reading. These books are in sets of six so we can instruct groups of students reading at a kindergarten level.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students come from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds, but come to school everyday ready to grow. At my school, children learn through hands-on exploration and cross-curricular instruction, supported by a STEAM focused curriculum.
“What,” “why,” "when," and “how” are words that are embraced and encouraged in my classroom.
Students are agents of their own learning and given the space to investigate their interests. My classroom is a place for students to grow, imagine, build, and thrive, all through learning.
My Project
Our students need books that are interesting and motivating to read! We want to give our students materials that are at their level so they feel successful.
These books will be used to make sure students are getting reinforcement of sight words, and learning strategies that all readers use to decode words.
It is important at all levels for students to feel success while reading. They need to feel success to feel confident. If they feel successful and confident, we are halfway to making them life long readers. These books were chosen specifically because they meant all the criteria. Our students deserve to be exposed to many books. We are in great need of these sets of books to support the growth of our learners durning instructional guided reading time. Please help us to support them in their reading journey!
