Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have an amazing group of students I work with. My students range from 1st to 2nd grade and are all reading below the 50th percentile. They all come from different backgrounds with 100% of them receiving free breakfast and lunch. They come excited and ready to learn different skills and strategies to help make them lifelong learners. They take pride in their efforts and are willing to challenge their minds for the sake of learning. It's so amazing to watch them grow.
My Project
These materials will make a difference in my student's life, because they will be the tools that I will use to help them become lifelong readers. We are in need of guided reading books. I have ordered books, so that I can pull students in small group instruction to help them become successful readers.
I use guided reading books to help teach my students the skills and strategies to become successful readers.
We currently do not have enough books in each level to help support my students. As a teacher, I want to see my students succeed. By providing them with more types of both fiction and nonfiction guided reading books.
