My students are AMAZING! They enter kindergarten in September a little timid, a little shy, but ready to learn. When they leave in June they will be confident, responsible students who LOVE to learn!
My class is made up of boys and girls from countries all over the globe who work together to make learning fun!
At their age, everything is new to them, so hearing a new story or playing a learning game with a classmate brings them so much joy.
My Project
My students are very excited when they know it's time for the Daily 5. They love that they are in charge of their learning while doing independent activities. As they are engaged in these 5 activities, I am doing a Guided Reading lesson with a small group, so it's important that they stay focused on their activity.
My students LOVE Daily 5 and are disappointed if they don't get to do it.
Word Work activities are an integral part of the Daily 5. The students need CVC and phonics activities to practice reading and writing words. The CVC Word Work Center will give them the opportunity to build CVC words using foam letters and picture cards, while the Magnetic Boards allow them to work on long and short vowel words. The Writing Practice Magic Boards are great to develop printing skills while writing sight words and learning to spell them.
Read to Self is another important part of our Daily 5 routine and the book boxes will help the kids keep their books organized.
