This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Energetic, determined, inquisitive, and intelligent are the words I would use to describe my students. My students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face daily in their environment, I am looking to provide all of my students with a meaningful learning experience in and outside of school.
My students are from a low socioeconomic area.
My students are faced with daily challenges that can be addressed through technology and education.
My Project
iPads with Wi-Fi are needed to accommodate the students in my classroom. We recently received several students from Puerto Rico. They aren't fluent in English and need some additional assistance in learning English. Most of the time my students have to wait for their chance to work on the computers in the classroom, which causes frustration and agitation; often this creates a blockage to the learning process.
Waiting to get a turn on the computer or iPad can cause anxiety and frustration which makes learning somewhat difficult!
Many of my students are anxious to get their turn on the computers and iPads to access the various apps which are available to them. The necessity to finish assigned lessons in the Waterford Learning Program can be accomplished by all with the additional technical apparatus.
