My Students

Do you remember the first time you were able to figure out a word and surprised yourself by saying it? My students are needing more practice in figuring out new words and moving on into the exciting world of reading!

I have a full day kindergarten classroom of twelve boys and five girls.

They are an eager, fast pace group of children. My group learns best with hands on materials in which active participation is the key component. Also they like to change activities every few minutes. They are a fun loving group!

My Project

In the afternoon we have an hour of center time. This is where I plan to use the materials that I have requested. The students are put into small groups and go to different centers one at a time. They also come to the table where I work with the small group on different skill areas. I can easily see the area that each child needs help and provide the materials needed to improve those skill areas. The children really enjoy center time.

Reading is so important and a real must in today's world.

In kindergarten the reading foundation is laid and built on throughout the child's school days. These materials will help to build this strong foundation.
