My Students

I teach 25 wonderful pre-kindergarten students. My students all come from a variety of different backgrounds, economic statuses, and academic levels. My classroom is the first place these student begin to love learning. While in my class, it is my job to make sure each of my students feel safe and comfortable with me. When my students feel safe and comfortable, they are more eager to explore and learn. Half of my students are special education students with IEPs. These students all have different learning styles and needs.

My Project

There is a strong correlation between early literacy skills and becoming a skilled successful reader. This easel will be such an asset to my students. We will use the easel to foster our beginning reading and writing skills. We will utilize this easel to engage in interactive learning experiences during whole and small group instruction. Students will be engaged in hands-on learning while interacting with the easel through morning messages, shared reading and writing and so much more! This easel will allow us to collaborate using read alouds, shared reading, and shared writing experiences. These skills will help to foster a love for learning, as well as, ensuring academic success in all of my pre-k kiddos!
