This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach reading intervention in downtown Fresno. The neighborhood I work in is one of the poorest in the state. The students in my classroom are far below grade level and need help getting excited about reading. Introducing them engaging books would help them enjoy reading and make great growth.

My Project

Anyone can love reading if you find the right books. My students are far below grade level and come to me for reading intervention. These books will allow them to read at their independent level while learning about various topics. The books I have chosen are popular titles that students will love reading. Students will have different books and topics to choose from. Also, I bought many books in multiple copies so I can teach small groups using them. This will improved reading comprehension and provide support needed. In an average day I teach six different groups of students. All students will have access to these books and they will be well used and taken care of.
