My students are very hard-working with a thirst for new learning and new technology! As you know with today's changes, children are engaged by different stimuli. I saw how engaged my students (both boys and girls) were engaged by a LEGO kit I had and decided I need more for them!
My students all have various ways of learning but they are mostly kinesthetic/tactile learners.
My students also need experiences to develop creative problem-solving skills while also working collaboratively with others.
I plan to use the legos to teach students concepts with fractions. Students will be able to use the different-sized pieces to learn how to compare fractions. Students will learn how to add/subtract fractions with unlike denominators as well. Having the lego pieces to model and develop this concept will be greatly beneficial in mastering this concept.
The Sphero will be used to help students learn to code, along with learning graphing concepts.
I already have one Sphero, so having another will help tremendously! The kids love this little robot and are amazed at seeing what they can make it do
