Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
On Thursday, March 12th we were all at school with all of our materials available to us. That same evening we received a call from the school district asking us to not return to the school. This included teachers and students. This experience has left kids and families confused and overwhelmed.
This pandemic has posed some challenges to learning at home.
My students do not have the basic materials they need for distance learning.
My Project
We have learned that our students have limited supplies to do Online schooling from home. I taught a direct drawing lesson from home and many of our students didn't have paper, to write on so they drew on tiny notebooks.
Kids left all of their supplies at school with our sudden exit on March 12th.
Please help me give them some art supplies so we can continue learning from home together. Sidewalk chalk, paint and paper will make a difference in these troubling times. These supplies will help me teach them drawing lessons online.
