My Students

“ It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge”, Albert Einstein. The students at my school love our library. We implemented a Makerspace last year in which they can create, collaborate, invent and bring their ideas to life. Our population is very transient. 66% of our students are from military families.

Our students are makers and learners.

They love to use this space whenever they can. My school library tries to stay up to date on the latest tech or physical items they can manipulate to create.

My students are very creative and passionate about their learning. We strive to meet the needs of our students in every way possible.

My Project

Students will be able to bring their creations to life using a 3D printer. They will have the ability to create their own designs using math and the elements of design. Students would be able to apply this to any subject, but especially Science and Math. I also want to use it for students to create objects from their favorite books that are relevant to the book as an extension activity.

Having a 3D printer would expand their knowledge of real world tech and give them a sense of ownership.

3D printers in the library provide an excellent opportunity for students to explore this relatively new technology.
