Our students are a diverse group of curious, hard-working thinkers and emerging engineers. We are a project-based school that values the contributions of all disciplines and strives to teach children how to create beautiful work.
Young engineers at HTe are learning creative critical thinking skills by putting STEM and socio-emotional skills to practice in hands-on, student-led projects.
Our school is a publicly funded charter embracing a philosophy of learning through community-based projects, which are conducted as collaborations between different subject areas. Our students are admitted through a lottery to create a population representing our diverse county.
Please help us raise money for microcontrollers to continue to build our engineering expertise!
My Project
This project will allow students to create interactive programs that can be transferred to a microcontroller (think of it as a computer brain) called a micro:bit.
All the students in my class have been eager to use their skills around problem-solving, teamwork, and creativity to design digital tools.
These micro:bits will allow students to have first-hand experiences working with the types of hardware that many engineers use. Your donation will allow students to program real hardware that they can use to create interactive games or solve authentic problems. This is the type of hands-on STEM learning that will jumpstart their middle and high-school learning at High Tech High.
