Learning To Be Kind!

My students need a class sets of “Wonder” Books. I believe by reading these books in the classroom my students will learn to be kind to each other. The magazines will help with skills.

My Students

I teach at a Title one school. Our children come from all different homes. Some of them face many challenges in life. I want to make sure they have a simple and safe place to come to everyday.

Most of them love to read together.

Many of them are being raised in single parent households. They all receive free lunch and breakfast but some wont get anything else. These things may prevent them from getting ahead in life and may not provide them with the life experiences many of us see as "typical". I may not be able to control their home lives, however, I can control their experience in my classroom. By doing this in a positive way, I am hopeful to inspire even our earliest learners ro continue on a path of academic excellence.

My Project

I believe the books "Wonder" will have a positive inpact on my students lives. It is a story about being kind. (The world could learn a thing or two from this book) I feel it will be a positive influence on my students lives.

I have also added Some Scholastic news.

I have had a couple hand me downs from other schools and my students seem to respond well to the articles. They would each get their own copy and be able to work on them without having to worry about other kids using them. Our school has no money. I would love to give the students something they could work on and call their own.
